2026 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards Open for Global Sustainability Changemakers
2026 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards Open for Entries

As global sustainability challenges continue to intensify, the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) officially launches the “2026 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA)” to encourage enterprises, governments, universities, hospitals, and non-governmental organizations across the Asia-Pacific region to showcase impactful and actionable sustainability initiatives. Through a structured evaluation mechanism and international exchange platform, the awards aim to promote cross-sector learning and transform sustainability commitments into real-world implementation.
As the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) timeline approaches, global attention has increasingly shifted from sustainability commitments toward the practical outcomes and measurable impacts of sustainability actions. According to the 2025 Sustainable Development Goals Report, East and South Asia have demonstrated notable progress across multiple socio-economic sustainability indicators, positioning the Asia-Pacific region as one of the world’s most dynamic hubs for sustainability action and innovation.
TAISE Chairman Ambassador Eugene Chien stated that over the past five editions, the Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards have accumulated more than 1,700 sustainability action projects from enterprises, governments, healthcare institutions, educational organizations, and NGOs. These actions reflect the region’s growing momentum in advancing practical sustainability initiatives and cross-sector collaboration. He further emphasized that through evaluation, recognition, and international dialogue, sustainability actions can be more effectively communicated, shared, and replicated, fostering continuous improvement and broader social impact.
Since last year, APSAA has introduced “Sustainability Action Videos” as part of the submission materials. Many judges recognized the value of video presentations in demonstrating project backgrounds, implementation processes, and operational outcomes, allowing evaluation committees to gain a more comprehensive understanding of each sustainability initiative. TAISE emphasized that the purpose of the video requirement is to help sustainability actions be more clearly understood, rather than serving as a performance-based judging criterion. Participating organizations are encouraged to focus on presenting the actual sustainability value and social impact of their initiatives.
In addition to sustainability action projects, the awards also continue to recognize influential sustainability leadership through categories such as “Top Sustainability Officer,” “Outstanding Sustainability Youth,” and “Most Livable Sustainable City,” highlighting the diverse contributions of different stakeholders in driving sustainable transformation across the Asia-Pacific region.
The awards are now officially open for submissions until June 15. TAISE sincerely invites organizations from across the Asia-Pacific region to share their sustainability experiences and innovative practices through dialogue and exchange, jointly advancing sustainable development and regional impact.
