2027 Taiwan Energy Sustainability Award
Origin of the Awards
Amid the global acceleration toward energy transition and net-zero emissions, energy has become a critical foundation linking climate governance, industrial competitiveness, and societal sustainability. Energy transition involves more than just adjustments to the supply structure; it encompasses the transformation of energy consumption, the introduction of innovative solutions, and the comprehensive upgrade of governance decisions and institutional designs. There is an urgent need to accelerate this process through cross-disciplinary collaboration and the diffusion of practical experience.
In response to Taiwan's "2050 Net-Zero Emissions" vision, the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) has established the "2027 Taiwan Energy Sustainability Award." Through an open and impartial evaluation mechanism, the award aims to identify and honour organisations and cases that demonstrate substantial contributions in areas such as energy consumption transformation, supply-side solutions, institutionalised governance decisions, and cross-domain impact, thereby enhancing the overall competitiveness of Taiwan's sustainable energy development.
Purpose of the Awards
1. Promoting the Sustainable Development of Renewable and Green Energy
Encouraging all sectors to invest in energy development and application, strengthening the momentum of energy transition, and constructing a sustainable energy system that balances environmental sustainability with industrial development.
2. Deepening Sustainable Actions in Renewable and Green Energy
Guiding organisations to translate energy commitments from goals into concrete actions through institutionalised management, technological innovation, and cross-sector collaboration to enhance the substantial benefits and long-term impact of energy applications.
3. Establishing Benchmarks for Renewable and Green Energy Sustainability
By recognising energy actors with proven performance and influence, establishing learnable and scalable benchmark cases to drive the entire society toward sustainable energy practices.
