    Taiwan Cultural Sustainability Award

    2027 Taiwan Cultural Sustainability Award
Passing on Cultural Values, Co-creating a Sustainable Future

    Origin of the Awards

Culture is a vital cornerstone for cohesion of social values, continuity of historical memories, and promotion of diverse inclusion in Taiwan. It is also an indispensable core force for achieving sustainable development. As the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UNESCO recognise culture as an important driver for fostering a friendly and inclusive society, promoting quality education, and strengthening local resilience, cultural sustainability has become one of the key issues in global sustainable development. In recent years, cultural sustainability has further integrated with ESG concepts, becoming a crucial indicator for measuring institutional development and social innovation.

To commend individuals or organisations that have made outstanding contributions in areas such as cultural education, venue management, action practices, and partner collaboration, the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (hereinafter referred to as TAISE) officially presents the "Taiwan Cultural Sustainability Award." Held in conjunction with the "Taiwan Cultural Sustainability Forum," this grand event aims to inspire more units to engage in cultural sustainability actions, together promoting a vision of harmonious coexistence across the environment, society, and economy.

    Purpose of the Awards

     1. Promoting Cultural Sustainability Development
Encouraging practitioners in cultural and other sectors, government departments, institutions, and communities to integrate sustainability concepts into cultural innovation, educational promotion, and governance, establishing long-term action mechanisms.

     2. Deepening Cultural Sustainability Actions
Driving culture and various sectors of society to implement cultural preservation, inheritance, activation, and reuse through sustainable actions, promoting social inclusion and environmental responsibility, and strengthening the positive impact of culture on ecology, society, and the economy.

     3. Establishing Benchmarks for Cultural Sustainability
Encouraging comprehensive focus on cultural sustainability issues through competition across Taiwan, and recognizing benchmark models with exemplary effects and influence in the process of practice, leading all sectors toward sustainable development.
