    2020 Award Categories

    Information as of March 16th 2020

     

    There are four major Awards categories, according to their selection content, as follows:

    Corporate Comprehensive Performance
    To recognize the development of the company’s vision, strategy and performance, fulfilling their social responsibilities.
     
    1. The award evaluates overall performance in the three dimensions of corporate governance, environmental management, and the public interest, for outstanding firms fulfilling social responsibilities while meetingdevelopment visions and strategies. This category of awards is divided into two groups: “Domestic Companies” and “International Companies” Awards.
    2. Domestic Corporations: “Top 10 Domestic Companies Sustainability Model Awards (Manufacturing Industry)”; “Top 10 Domestic Companies Sustainability Model Awards (Service Industry)”; “Top 50 Taiwanese Companies Sustainability Awards” – the companies with the next best performance scores are awarded the “Taiwanese Companies Sustainability Performance Award” (See Memo).
    3. In order to commend international companies in Taiwan for their dedication to local sustainability, information disclosure, providing stakeholders/ the public as reference, and improving local employment, economic and social development, a special “International Corporations” group has been established since 2016 to recognize outstanding performance.
    The highest performing corporations are recognized with the “International Companies Sustainability Model Awards”, while the corporations with the next best performance scores are awarded with the "International Companies Sustainability Performance Awards" (See Memo).
     
    Memo: There are no fixed limits to the number of recognized corporations, the number of awards are contingent upon the number of participating companies and their performance that year.
     
    Best Practice Award
    To recognize companies’ outstanding performance and exemplary models,
    the following individual performance awards have been established:
     
    1. Growth through Innovation Awards: Exhibiting outstanding innovation capabilities and values, while fulfilling corporate growth and continuing to meet profitability targets.
    2. Transparency and Integrity Awards: Corporate governance processes are transparent, demonstrating corporate operational integrity.
    3. Supply Chain Management Awards: Fulfilling environmental protection, human rights and corporate governance; establishing sustainable supply chain management.
    4. People Development Awards: Supporting employee career development and training.
    5. Social Inclusion Awards: Including social requirements as core focuses to establish shared value operating modes.
    6. Creativity in Communication Awards: Recognizing outstanding communication creativity, and establishing a consensus with stakeholders.
    7. Gender Equality Awards: Emphasizing gender equality rights, elimination of discrimination, and promotion of a friendly and conducive work environment.
    8. Climate Leadership Awards: Responsiveness to climate change, displaying excellent efficiency in reducing or mitigating climate change.
    9. Sustainable Water Management Awards: Establishing sustainable and safe water supply systems and equipment, while disclosing significant reduction of water resource usage.

    10. Circular Economy Leadership Awards: Optimizing resource usage, developing innovative business models, and achieving the economic performance of business, environment and society.
    11. Information Security Awards: Encouraging companies to strengthen their corporate information security awareness and enhancing their information security technology capabilities.
    12. Best Sustainability Project Awards – University: Rewarding universities for promoting social responsibility practices, making good use of school resources and promoting local creativity.
    13. Best Sustainability Project Awards – Hospital: Rewarding hospitals for promoting national and international medical care for the public and the elderly.

    ※The “Best Practice Awards” are not distinguished into Domestic Companies and International Companies sub-categories.
    ※For holding companies that have applied for the "Corporate Sustainability Report Awards", their subsidiaries can individually apply for the performance award.
    ※Universities and hospitals can individually apply for the 12th and 13th awards respectively, without participating in the report awards.
     
    Corporate Sustainability Report
    1. This category of awards is divided into two groups: “Corporate Sustainability Report” and “English Report” Awards.
    2. “Corporate Sustainability Report”: This award recognizes fulfillment of social responsibility through complete information disclosure, credibility and effective communication.
    Awards are bestowed according to the evaluation results, divided into platinum, gold, silver and bronze (See Memo).
    3. To encourage more SMEs to apply, the report award adopts a grading system: the first category for registration is for companies making more than or equal to NTD $6 billion, while the second category is for companies making less than NTD $6 billion.
    4. The “English Report Award” aims to encourage more companies to issue English corporate sustainability reports, in order to increase the proportion of English information disclosure so as to reduce barriers for inclusive stakeholders to access reading the reports. The CSR disclosure contents must focus on the company’s promotion of sustainable practices in Taiwan (See Memo).
     
    ※ The “Corporate Sustainability Report Awards” are not distinguished into Domestic Companies and International Companies sub-categories.
     
    The Outstanding Corporate Sustainability Professionals
    This category recognizes exemplary individuals and commends their commitment of fulfilling social responsibility and promoting outstanding contributions through sustainable development work.
     
    Awards Overview
    1. Participating companies must agree to authorize the organizer to collect, process, and use the information provided during registration and submission of the award, on behalf of the public interest, without limitation of time and location, for subsequent statistical analysis of data, publication of books, and media use (printing media, online platforms, etc.), and to disclose information through other channels or the digitalization use thereof.
    2. After the company has been awarded, based on the principles of transparency, integrity, fairness, openness, equity and impartiality, it must agree to authorize the organizer to announce and republish any award related fact or information (from the submitted award evaluation content), for subsequent statistical analysis of data, publication of books, and media use (printing media, online platforms, etc.), and to disclose information through other channels or the digitalization use thereof.
    3. The information provided from participating companies must be true. In order to uphold the corporate sustainability spirit, respecting information disclosure transparency and integrity, any malicious non-disclosure will cause the organizer to revoke the award received.
    4. The organizer reserves the right to modify, change or cancel the awards. Any changes will be announced on the website without prior notice.
