Shuang Ho Hospital’s Social Work Department prioritizes social justice and healthcare equity, closely aligned with SDG 16 and integrating goals from SDGs 3, 4, 10, and 17. Located in a culturally diverse region, from 2022 to 2024, the team annually served around 4,501 individuals facing complex healthcare challenges, including undocumented migrants, economically disadvantaged patients, and marginalized groups. They successfully mobilized over NT$10 million in aid, significantly alleviating financial burdens for vulnerable families through coordinated charity resources. Additionally, the department actively advocates for systemic reform, notably addressing policy gaps affecting migrant healthcare access. Innovations include pioneering 3D-printed organ replacements to comfort grieving families and significantly enhancing patient autonomy with specialized advance care planning services, which grew fifteenfold in participation. Through robust professional training, research publications, and AI integration, the department ensures sustainable growth, reinforcing its role as a model for inclusive healthcare and social justice globally.
