Living the Dream: Sustainable Homes for Families
Taiwan Asset Management Corporation (TAMCO) upholds the mission of “revitalizing non-performing assets and realizing housing justice.” Its core operations promotes affordable housing, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, to promote “housing justice”, “equity” and creating “sustainable cities and communities.” TAMCO transforms idle or underutilized real estate into affordable housing options. This initiative aims at stabilizing housing prices and furthermore foster social inclusion. TAMCO has innovatively adopted a lottery-based allocation system to ensure fairness and transparency. To date, over 1,300 units have been made available pricing below market rates, easing young generation and disadvantaged groups' house buying pressures and enhancing community safety and supporting urban regeneration. TAMCO has developed a scalable and replicable operational framework that integrates policies, funding resources, and public-private partnerships. This model has the potential to be promoted and utilized across different regions of Taiwan. Moving forward, TAMCO aims to deepen cross-sector collaboration and drive for housing equality and sustainable urban development.
