Longchen Paper & Packaging Co., Ltd.

Longchen P&P’s Solutions for Net Zero Emissions with Circular Economy
Longchen P&P is dedicated to developing efficient resource utilization technologies that transform paper waste into cartons for packaging. In 2020, it achieved the BS8001 Level 4 circular economy optimization standard, the highest maturity level. Integrating circular economy concepts into papermaking aligns with the UN’s SDG 12, improving energy and resource efficiency while reducing environmental impact and procurement costs. Eleven circular economy models cover paper, water, and energy circulation. Technologies include waste reuse, wastewater recycling, rainwater harvesting, anaerobic treatment with biogas generation, kitchen waste recycling, and patented sludge recycling. In 2024, these efforts saved 91.94 million metric tons of water, reduced 20.10 million metric tons CO2e, cut raw materials by 36,000 metric tons, lowered waste by 4.18 million metric tons, saved 3,363 kWh of electricity, and cut expenses by NT$2.64 billion. The plant’s water recycling rate reached 97%, with white water reused 26 times per drop, an industry benchmark.
