As a prominent agricultural hub confronting the impacts of climate change and a super-aged society, Yunlin has prioritized sustainable transformation. Centered on "Smart Governance, Inclusive Resilience, and Sustainable Transformation," the Yunlin County Government utilizes "Climate Action" and "Regional Revitalization" as twin engines to mobilize cross-departmental efforts and connect industry, government, academia, and local communities. Together, these initiatives propel advancements in net-zero transformation, the circular economy, smart disaster prevention, water management, low-carbon transit, and multi-generational public spaces—creating a safe, inclusive, and resilient sustainable city.
Yunlin’s commitment to the UN SDGs is actively demonstrated through its VLRs, international collaborations, and smart city platforms. Thanks to its breakthroughs in smart governance and climate adaptation, Yunlin was recognized as an ICF Top 7 city in 2024 and a Smart 21 city in 2026. With citizen satisfaction hitting an all-time high of 72.8% in 2025, Yunlin stands as a prime example of impactful local governance with a powerful global presence.
