ChengLong Wetland Flowing Feast: Art, Resilience and Inclusion
ChengLong Wetland: A Flowing Art Feast for Inclusive Sustainability transforms a wetland born from land subsidence, typhoon damage and seawater intrusion into a platform for environmental learning, social inclusion and local revitalization. Led by the Yunlin County Government and implemented with National Yunlin University of Science and Technology and YCDC, the 2025 project connected government agencies, communities, environmental NGOs, artists, schools, vendors, volunteers and citizens. Under the theme “Below Sea Level,” it used drumming, dance, installation art, ecological tours, community walks, local seafood dining, creative markets and reusable tableware promotion to help the public experience climate risk, wetland conservation and local resilience. The initiative engaged about 5,000 visitors, 33 market vendors, 24 volunteers, 45 ecological tour participants, and small-group experiences through ChengLong Walks and the Wetland Dining Table. Building on 2023 and 2024 actions, it offers a replicable model for coastal and rural communities: turning environmental challenges into shared learning, cultural participation, local economic support and sustainable futures.
