Taoyuan Intelligent Industry Academy: AI for Sustainable Prosperity and Inclusive Growth
Facing AI adoption, the net-zero transition and supply-chain restructuring, many SMEs face talent shortages, technical barriers and fragmented resources, making it difficult to access upgrading opportunities on equal terms. The Taoyuan Intelligent Industry Academy advances digital equity and industrial upgrading through four mechanisms: talent cultivation, enterprise diagnostics, subsidy and advisory support, and application deployment. It provides one-stop support from AI awareness and diagnosis to implementation, helping enterprises move from understanding AI to using and governing it. As of the end of 2025, the Academy had delivered 67 classes, trained 27,868 participants, served 160 companies, provided 80 subsidy and advisory cases, helped enterprises obtain more than NT$220 million in subsidies, and driven more than NT$440 million in upgrading investment. It also extended AI learning resources to Fuxing District, training 110 participants and narrowing the urban-rural digital gap. Corresponding to SDGs 4, 8, 9, 10 and 17, the initiative was recognized by WITSA in the Digital Opportunity / Inclusion category as a replicable city model for SME digital transformation.
