Smart Outpatient Low-Carbon Transformation: Full-Process Digitalization
Confronting workforce shortages, Shuang Ho Hospital launched the "Smart Outpatient Services, Sustainable Optimization" initiative, deploying a Smart Mobile Healthcare System for digital transformation across the patient pathway. Pre-Visit: Virtual triage and digital check-in improve first-visit accuracy, reducing unnecessary trips. During outpatient visits: Wayfinding navigation and real-time queue prediction minimize crowding outside clinics. Upon departure: Linked digital payment, commercial insurance claims, e-receipts, and online arrears payment streamline workflows and upgrade services. Advancing SDGs 3, 9, and 13, this green technology initiative yields measurable outcomes: saving 20 staff-hours daily in guidance workload; raising digital payment adoption to 65.4% and paperless receipts to 56.4%; and slashing counter waiting times from 13.8 to 5.2 minutes. This framework enhances resource flexibility and institutional resilience, establishing an age-friendly, low-carbon, and highly scalable green healthcare model.
