Public Health Bureau, Yunlin County

Yunlin Care “Liver”, Health Together.
Since being elected, Chang Li-shan, county magistrate, had prioritized hepatitis control. According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Taiwan, Yunlin County ranked second nationwide in age- standardized liver cancer mortality in 2023, while the prevalence of hepatitis C was significantly higher than the national average. In response, the county implemented a multi-sector collaborative program, integrating resources from the Health Promotion Administration, non-government organizations, hospitals and clinics, township offices, and public health centers to promote precise screening for hepatitis C control. The program had achieved promising outcomes. Accordingly, the county leveraged experience and outreach efforts to integrate 20 township health centers, 14 hospitals, and 178 primary care clinics for increasing screening coverage through the “4E” strategy: Enlargement (comprehensive screening registries), Expansion (diverse communication channels), Engagement (cross-sector collaboration), and E-technology (digital case management). “Yunlin Care “Liver”, Health Together” successfully integrated liver disease prevention, health equity, and sustainable well-being into daily life.
