Intergenerational Co-Creation for Precision Healthy Ageing in Rural Communities
Facing Taiwan’s super-aged transition and limited rural care resources, this project built an intergenerational, data-driven model for rural healthy ageing. With Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, Chang Gung University, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, communities, students, and older volunteers, it integrates four actions: a learning module, volunteer service, fitness assessment, and a smart health database. By 2025, it trained 139 older volunteers, 25 student volunteers, and 31 community health instructors, and produced 137 podcast courses and 47 videos. From 2023 to 2025, volunteers delivered 1,389 services reaching 29,773 older adults; assessments served 3,403 older adults in 170 sessions. With over three years of longitudinal data, the database supports health management across individual, community, and project levels. Selected 2024–2025 data showed significant grip-strength gains in Yizhu Touzhu Community (16.71 to 21.83 kg) and Xingang Older Adults’ Association (16.74 to 20.47 kg), with improved agility and dynamic balance. The project establishes an assessment–analysis–feedback–intervention–follow- up cycle for precision rural health promotion.
