CTBC Youth Basketball Project
The "CTBC Youth Basketball Project" aims to ignite a spark in the lives of disadvantaged children by organizing diverse basketball, anti-drug, and financial education activities. We hope to guide them toward a positive path, help them find confidence and passion, and in turn, influence each other, thereby creating a "positive cycle" for society. According to statistics from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan has approximately tens of thousands of vulnerable family cases annually, and over 240,000 low-income and lower-middle-income households. Students from these families, due to dysfunctional family structures or impoverished circumstances, not only face various life challenges but some may also experience low academic achievement and be at risk of dropping out. The project hoped that children will develop an interest in sports, cultivate the ability to confront and solve problems, and then build a sense of belonging within a team and establish a sense of accomplishment, thereby affirming their self-worth.
