STARS: Smart Total Automation & Reporting System for Laboratory Sustainability
This project, centered on the Medical Laboratory Department, proactively constructed Taiwan's first intelligent total automation and reporting system (STARS) for laboratory testing to address challenges such as escalating sample volumes, complex workflows, and strained human resources. STARS deeply integrates innovative functions including ultra-high-speed pneumatic tube systems, intelligent sample diversion, cross-brand automated analysis, and automatic report issuance, comprehensively achieving streamlined processes, enhanced quality, and digital transformation. Through this system, specimen transportation time is drastically reduced from 30 minutes to 15 seconds, emergency and inpatient workflow steps are simplified by over 40% respectively, the automatic report issuance rate is significantly increased by 2 times, and the daily walking distance of medical technologists is effectively reduced by over 10,000 steps, notably improving occupational health and safety.
