Enel X Taiwan Co., Ltd.

Uniting a Thousand Battery Swapping Stations to Reinforce Grid Resilience
In 2024, Enel X Taiwan successfully integrated nearly 1,000 Gogoro Network battery swapping stations (GoStations) into its Virtual Power Plant (VPP), enabling participation in Taiwan Power Company’s (TPC) Energy Trading Platform to enhance grid resilience. This world-first commercialized integration allows rapid responses to grid dispatch, reducing reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand, facilitating renewable energy integration, and cutting carbon emissions, therefore advancing Taiwan’s net-zero goals.
In 2024, GoStations provided 10.5 MW of capacity and supported over 119 under-frequency events. After Taiwan’s April earthquake, the system reduced 11 MW of consumption within five seconds, stabilizing the grid and keeping the lights on for everyone. This milestone showcases the potential of EVs and DERs in building a resilient, sustainable energy future.
Enel X is currently the largest demand response aggregator on the Energy Trading Platform. As of June 2025, its total aggregated capacity exceeds 210 MW, equivalent to the power load of 80,000 households. Enel X will keep driving the energy transition, combining sustainability with business value.
