New Taipei City Energy-saving E-House Project-- Helping People Choose Energy-Efficient Houses
The primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions in New Taipei City are the residential and commercial sectors, accounting for about 39%. To advance from nearly-zero to net-zero emissions, the Energy-saving E-House Project, the first domestic project to disclose residential building energy efficiency, has been enforced in New Taipei City since March 2022. The building energy efficiency star rating, from 3-Star to 6-Star, is assigned based on the energy use intensity (EUI) of community facilities. Also, one-stop energy-saving consultation and subsidy are provided for communities to not only maintain their quality of life but also save electricity bills. As of May 2024, there have been 357 communities in New Taipei City onboard with the project, among which 164 communities are assigned with the Energy-saving E-House Star Rating. The communities join the effort of community facility energy efficiency disclosure, offering individuals houses with better energy efficiency.
