A cemetery land reborn with inclusivity and green powerRevival of LULU (locally unwanted land use) - miracle of inclusion in the context of green power The ultimate goal of our visionary roadmap which aims to foster local development and community integration is to create the first social inclusion-oriented, multifunctional PV park in Taiwan - Beishin Solar Sports Park - on the former grounds of a relocated public cemetery (Pingtung Public Cemetery No. 15). This project is a perfect example of activation and revitalization of public land with simultaneous emphasis on the promotion of the green energy industry, photovoltaic project site functions, and leisure facilities for local communities. We have planned various ball sports areas, fitness facilities, and spaces for the whole family. While rooftops of the ball sports areas are utilized for PV power generation, the multifunctional environment with multidimensional facilities serves as a safe, inclusive, and green public space for leisure and recreational activities of community residents. This project is a perfect demonstration site for multifunctionality and social inclusion and a benchmark for the revitalization of idle land in Pingtung.
