Pioneering Sustainable Solutions for a Net-Zero FutureAlign with the 2015 Paris Agreement, GIS embarked on an ambitious journey towards achieving netzeroemissions across its value chain by 2050, with the aim of leading in net-zero energy emissions by 2030. The key initiatives undertaken to advance towards sustainability are outline below. Firstly, GIS established an energy conservation and carbon reduction team, collaborating closely with key customers and audited by the Foxconn Group's Energy Conservation Committee. Through investing in 44 energy-saving projects, GIS resulted in 13 GWh electricity savings and 7,293 tCO2e reduction. Additionally, a newly built solar PV system that has been operating since December 2023 at the Houli factory is expected to generate over 3 GWh of clean energy, significantly reducing emissions by 1,485 tCO2e annually. Furthermore, GIS contractually procure 239 GWh of renewable energy in 2023. Through rigorous evaluation, GIS selected five small hydropower plants with minimal environmental impact, further enhancing its renewable energy portfolio and reducing carbon emissions by 137,000 tCO2e. These efforts highlight GIS's dedication to sustainability and align with its vision for a greener future.
