Sustainable development of Fazi River environment
The Fazi River is the international facade of Taichung, known as the "Welcome River" of Taichung City and also the mother river of Taichung. In order to protect the river ecology of the Fazi River, the action plan of this department includes: intercepting residential areas and commercial districts' sewage from key pollution source areas such as Lin Cuo Drainage, Dongda River, Huilai River, and Chaoyang River in the upstream, specifically diverting it to gravel yards for water purification, setting up sewage pipelines to collect domestic sewage from residents west of the Fazi River to the Wenshan Water Resources Plant, collecting and treating residential sewage from the Luming community to the Luming Water Resources Plant to meet discharge water standards. This improvement can enhance the water quality and environmental hygiene of the Fazi River, reducing it from moderate pollution to slight pollution, enhancing the quality of life and increasing urban competitiveness in alignment with SDG6 Clean Water and Sanitation goals.
