Gathering in Drama with Generations, Co-creating a Beautiful WorldYunlin County, a super-aged society, currently is facing the challenges of an aging population and increasing social welfare needs. The project members provide the elderly with the opportunities to pass on their experiences and memories through stage performances within the “Community Theater" and engage in intergenerational exchanges. This helps to promote mental and physical health and improve the quality of life, and also achieves the goals of being close to, respecting and integrating with the elderly. Since 2011, this project has successfully promoted more than 50 community theaters, trained more than 300 amateur actors, more than 40% of whom are senior citizens, and had produced at least 35 plays and developed unique plays. These efforts have made Yunlin County's Community Theater uniquely leading in the country, successfully promoting the values of "independence, participation, care, self-realization, and dignity" of the elderly. The community theaters not only present local issues, promote parent-child interaction, and achieve ethnic integration, but also serve as a platform to envision world values and sustainable development.
