Asia's largest "2019 2nd Global Corporate Sustainability Forum" (GCSF) was successfully concluded at the Grand Hotel Taipei on November 28th-29th. Vice President Chien-Jen Chen, President of Legislative Yuan Jia-Chyuan Su, Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Wu, and Chairman of the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan (CNAIC) Por-Fong Lin all attended the Forum. The opening ceremony was attended by 39 chairmen, 44 general managers, 42 deputy general managers and other business representatives, as well as ambassadors and embassy representatives from 12 countries. The domestic and international benchmarking corporations gathered together, making it a symbolic event in the Asia-Pacific region and in Taiwan.
The award ceremony was unprecedentedly grand and received the highest number of guests.
Chairman of the Forum, Ambassador Eugene Chien, announced that this annual sustainability ceremony concerning the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (17 SDGs) invited more than 10 countries and more than 20 international lecturers, to hold speeches regarding the SDGs for Peace & Partnerships, Planet, Prosperity, People, with a total of 16 seminars, workshops and meetings; bringing together global trend topics and promote communication with the international community.

Vice President Chien-Jen Chen pointed out that, by attending the GCSF for the second time and participating in the “Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards” (TCSA) ceremony for the fourth consecutive year, he strongly felt the determination of Taiwanese companies to commit to sustainable development and was also pleased that corporations regarded the implementation of social responsibility as a strengthening part for sustainable competitiveness. Through the continuous improvement of ESG performance and CSR reports, Taiwanese companies integrated SDGs into their core decision-making and business strategies, confirmed by the excellent performance in recent years of many international appraisals such as the DJSI and CDP.
Vice President Chien-Jen Chen expressed that thanks to these outstanding sustainability performance companies, the world is able to notice Taiwan, and to let everyone know that Taiwan is a country that fulfills its sustainable environment and corporate responsibilities.
President of Legislative Yuan Jia-Chyuan Su, pointed out that the Legislative Yuan revised the corporate law last year (2018) and officially integrated corporate social responsibility into the law to comply with international agreements.
Chairman of the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan (CNAIC) Por-Fong Lin, expressed that corporations should integrate SDGs into their development strategies, develop sustainable solutions, markets, products and services.
The Forum held the "Global Corporate Sustainability Award" (GCSA) and "Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards" (TCSA) ceremonies.
