2023 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards
Winner Announcement!
Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) are to recognize “excellence in sustainability action across a variety of industries to promote the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).” For the 3rd TSAA in 2023, we received 321 submissions from 185 organizations, including corporates, universities, hospitals, government agencies and NGOs. 279 projects were awarded. On July 21, TAISE honors those who won the award at the 2023 SDGs Asia Summit in Taipei.
According to the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards Executive Committee, 100 judges for the TSAA, which are experts from industry and academia, evaluated all submitted cases for their performance and case studies that could demonstrate excellence in achieving sustainable development. To recognize those indispensable practices to SDGs, 5 distinction awards, 95 gold awards, 96 silver awards, and 83 bronze awards were selected. The judges commented that this year organizations improved the overall performance across SDGs, compared with the previous year’s outcomes. They anticipated that through efforts and corporations, we will be able to make our living more sustainable for future generations.
Furthermore, Eugene Chien, Chairman of TAISE, said that although the United Nations launched the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015 to build a global partnership for sustainable development, Taiwan made a late start. However, in the TSAA selection process, he was moved by observing many organizations across different industries that have proposed their action plans to reach sustainability and have yielded good results. He expected to promote the TSAA and 2023 SDGs Asia Summit to spur positive influence in the nation and the globe.
