The executive committee of the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA)held the 2023 Taiwan Sustainable Investment Awards (TWSIA).Our 2023 winners have been announced! 

From many submissions, our judges recognized financial institutions that have been usingnew financial tools, such as green bonds and ESG funds, to help drivenet-zero and green-energy transformations and develop Taiwan’s sustainability. The TWSIA has two different categories of awards:the institutionalimpact category and the impactful case study category. In theorganization impact category, awards are given to honor achievements in five award category groups including management of financial services,life insurance, banking,financial securities, and investment trust. In the impactful case study category, awards are given to recognize achievements in five award category groups that include sustainability investing, impact investing, shareholder activism, corporate engagement, and ESG innovation. This year,notably Cathay Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries won five awards for theirbest performance in the management of financial services, life insurance, banking, financial securities, and investment trust in the institutional impact category. Yuanta Funds won five awards for its excellent work for sustainability investing, impact investing, shareholder action, corporate engagement, and ESG innovation in the impactful case study category.Eugene Chien, Chairman at TAISE, said that global sustainable funds' assets,including ESG exchange-traded funds (ETFs), hit $2.74 trillion at end of March. ESG ETFsincreased markedly and already reached $540 billion.He noted that this year TWSIA’s competitionreflected this hot trend in global ESG investingwhen award submissions increased 43% from 2022.The trend indicates that research on ESG investing and ESG investmentproducts will be constantly developed.
