The 2022 15th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards: Hospital and Government List
The 15th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA), organized by the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Institute (TCSI), had 424 participants, a 29% increase over last year and a record high. The cumulative number of TCSA participants over the years has reached 581, accounting for 76% of the market value of listed companies in Taiwan. It is clear that sustainable development has become a major concern for all sectors. This year, 21 hospitals and 20 government entities participated in the award.
This year, in addition to the Sustainability Report Award and the Integrated Performance Award, hospitals in Taiwan have also actively responded to the UN SDGs by applying for the Asia-Pacific and Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA), which include a wide range of achievements in sustainable healthcare projects, including efforts to improve health and well-being, live and work, age-friendly, age-friendly, health promotion, smart healthcare, rural healthcare, anti-epidemic deployment, and climate action. The program's detailed content fully demonstrates the vitality of our hospitals in promoting sustainable development. This year, Shuang-Ho Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare won a total of six awards, making it the biggest winner in this year's competition. Kaohsiung Medical University's Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Kaohsiung Tatung Hospital, and Kaohsiung Xiaogang Hospital were among the top five winners.
In addition, the "Local Government Sustainable Development Self-Review Report (VLR)" was awarded the Platinum Award by the New Taipei City Government, Taichung City Government, and Taoyuan City Government for their excellent performance. The judges were very positive about the local governments' sustainability visions and concepts as presented in the three VLR reports, the integration of governance strategies, the clear definition of short-, medium- and long-term goals, the clarity of plans/action plans, the logic and process of SDGs development, the ease of reading the reports, and the clear presentation of key SDG promotion achievements.
