    2022 15th TCSA: Sustainable Excellence, Top 10, and Sustainable Performance Foreign Business Awards

    Applauding the Leaders for Creating a Sustainable World:
    2022 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards - Overall Performance and People Awards

    The Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) announced today (November 13) the winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Corporate Sustainability, the Outstanding Individual Award for Sustainability, and the Overall Performance Award for Sustainability! The "Lifetime Achievement Award for Corporate Sustainability" was presented to Far Eastern Group Chairman Xu Xudong, while the "Outstanding Personality Award for Sustainability" was awarded to Cathay Capital Holdings' Chief Executive Officer Sara Cheng and Kwong Tin Hospital's Chief Hospital Director Wang Nai-hong. The "Taiwan Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises in the Manufacturing and Service Industries" were once again awarded to TSMC and Yushan Financial Holdings. In addition, Panasonic Taiwan won first place in the "Sustainability Model Foreign Enterprise Award". In order to ensure the objectivity and fairness of the judging process, a large panel of 874 judges were invited to participate in this year's competition. The award-winning company will once again become the choice of investment institutions and the first choice of fresh university graduates.


    ESG's outstanding performance and achievements 

    TCSA selects top 10 sustainable foreign companies for the first time

    Ambassador Chien said that the competition in the "Integrated Performance Foreign Enterprise Category" was fierce, with foreign enterprises in Taiwan from nine countries and regions, including Japan, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Singapore, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France and Hong Kong, participating in the competition. The evaluation process was based on a combination of ESG indicators, including "understanding and implementation of CSR policies", "corporate governance performance", "talent development performance", "environmental sustainability performance", "social inclusion performance", "supply chain/value chain management performance" and "compliance and incentives performance". 


    The judges highly appreciated that foreign companies are making good use of their core competencies to bring about change in society by linking the efforts of others. Panasonic Taiwan is committed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and is moving towards the goal of "2030 Carbon Neutral for the whole business" and the vision of "2050 Energy Consumption

    Far Eastern Group Chairman Xu Xudong Hsu was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Corporate Sustainability

    Far Eastern Group has been established in Taiwan for more than 70 years under the leadership of Chairman Xu-Tung Hsu, and has been pursuing sustainable corporate growth with honesty, diligence, simplicity, prudence, and innovation as its corporate founding spirit. In his business, Chairman Hsu attaches great importance to issues of concern to different stakeholders and responds positively to them in order to create a win-win-win situation for the environment, governance and society. Chairman Hsu understands that only a sustainable enterprise, satisfied customers, growing employees, a quality supply chain and an inclusive society will enable the Group to grow and thrive. Far Eastern Group is one of the few pioneers of sustainability in Taiwan. Thanks to Chairman Hsu's forward-looking philosophy, he has led his colleagues in the Group to demonstrate their determination to take action for sustainability, which has led to the achievement of invaluable results, and his contribution to promoting sustainability in Taiwan and internationally is exemplary.

     

    Cathay Capital's Chief Investment Officer Sophia Cheng Receives Outstanding Sustainability Personality Award:

    Since 2014, she has been in charge of Cathay Capital's responsible investment and climate action, actively promoting many sustainable development tasks, participating in important international initiatives and corporate cooperation actions, translating important international information on ESG and net zero transformation back to Taiwan, promoting responsible investment, and collaborating with industry, government, and academia across fields to support low carbon transformation in the industry. Through years of efforts, Cathay Capital has become a leader in green finance and responsible investment in Taiwan, and is widely recognized internationally. Mr. Cheng has been invited to serve as the Chairman of Asia Investor Group on Climate Change, and has made remarkable achievements in fulfilling his professional responsibility for sustainable impact in the financial industry.
