Prevention Cognitive Frailty of Elderly in Rural Areas -The Happiness Memory Project
As of December 2021, there were 26,799 people over 65 years old with dementia in Yunchia county. It is urgent to co-create a region to delay cognitive frailty. Since 2020, the Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, with Yunchia County, has been promoting the “Prevention Cognitive Frailty of Elderly in Rural Areas”. The first youth and elderly co-creation that integrates music therapy, exercise, and cognitive training. In the past two years, we have served 87 community agencies in 38 townships in remote Yunlin and Chiayi areas, and conducted 3,103 courses, affecting more than 63,011 elderly people. The orientation, attention and memory of elderly were significant improve, echoing the “SDG3 Good Health and Well-being.” Through evidence and diversity training will improve health literacy of elderly-young adult talents, and will be devoted to serving the elderly in rural regions, echoing "SDG4 Quality Education"; through creating the capacity for a second career for the elderly in services, echoing "SDG8 Employment and Economic Growth" to achieve the social inclusion of "education," "service," and "health," creating a win-win situation for both the "local" and "university."
