Survey and Forum on Elderly Retirement
Taiwan Life Insurance has long been monitoring demand for retirement and insurance services as Taiwan becomes an aging society. In response to government efforts to build a comprehensive financial safety net for the elderly and to promote establishing financial services for the elderly, we have created the Taiwan Aging Society Retirement Ecosystem Metrics, the first metrics on Taiwan's retirement ecosystem, and Taiwan's first Forum on Elderly Finance, raising awareness of retirement planning and retirement financial security in Taiwan. This has allowed financial institutions to make a greater sustainability impact as our society ages.
1.2019: Collaborated with National Chengchi University's Risk and Insurance Research Center to create the Survey on Five Retirement Aspects for the 40s/70s Generations and the Empty Nest Economy.
2.2020: Collaborated with National Chengchi University's Risk and Insurance Research Center to create the Taiwan Aging Society Retirement Ecosystem Metrics, the first metrics on Taiwan's retirement ecosystem, which tracked changes and phenomena in how confident, ready, and satisfied the Taiwanese public felt towards their retirement plans across several years as Taiwan's socioeconomic landscape changes. We wanted to emphasize the importance of having retirement funds, financial management knowledge, and a retirement financial safety net to the public, and provide retirement solutions.
3.2021: Partnered with National Chengchi University's College of Commerce in an industry-academia collaboration agreement to establish a survey research team, conducting further research based on the Taiwan Aging Society Retirement Ecosystem Metrics. We also hosted Taiwan's first Forum on Elderly Finance, inviting experts from the government, private sector, and academia to share their opinions. This helped us grasp international trends on the development of elderly finance and propose opportunities for developing and creating services related to retirement pensions, medical care for the elderly, long-term care, and nursing homes as Taiwan becomes an aging society.
