LPP is shaping up future of the planet with its circular technology
Longchen Paper & Packaging CO., LTD. (LPP) has been developing high-efficiency resource utilization technology to recycle waste paper into commercial boxes. It obtained the BS8001 Level 4 – the most sophisticated and optimized circular economy standard - certification in 2020 by an international verification firm for its practices in integrating the circular economy into the papermaking process.
LPP has established 7 circular economic models including: 1. Waste paper recycling, 2. Waste paper mixture recycling, 3. White water recycling, 4. Wastewater biogas recycling, 5. Wastewater sludge recycling, 6. Kitchen waste recycling, 7. Rainwater recycling. They contributed NT$936.8 million in economic benefits in 2022 by saving 63.635 million MT of water, cutting GHG emissions equivalent to 13,918MT of CO2e, consuming 5,692MT fewer materials, reducing 4.329 million metric tons of waste, and consuming 1.8 million kWh fewer electricity. In LPP, recycled water account for 93.18% of the total water intake and the white water recycling technology enables it to reuse water 26 times in the pulp dilution and papering process.
