CSRC’s new circular economy helps tire industry chain to reduce GHG
CSRC’s core business are the model of circular economy, in which we convert the bottom oil (produced from oil refineries and steel mills) into high-value products such as carbon black, and renewable energy such as steam and electricity. However, we are not satisfy by that. In order to reduce GHG for whole tire industry chain, CSRC infuses the circular economy into its enterprise operations, by launching a ‘New circular economy model,’ through collaborating with waste tire recycling and breakdown operators, by extracting the recycled carbon black, we regenerate fuel as the raw material into the process, and whereby CSRC’s unique technology is used to adjust the carbon black formula for reproducing it into the new environmentally friendly, carbon reduction carbon black. Our new circular economy coincided with United Nations SDG 12-Responsible Consumption and Production. In 2022, Linyuan plant has replaced 25% of pyrolysis oil as fuel oil.
Aside from implementing pyrolysis oil into process, CSRC build up green supply chain by recycle and reuse pallet/waste and rebuild process circular mechanism by establishing indicators such as vapor volume produced per unit carbon black, electricity generated proportioned in whole used electricity, waste water recycle rate. We also used new technology application, technical improvement to improve process yield and reduce in material use and decrease waste. In 2022, the waste recycle rate of 3 plants reached 80% and above.
To further more reduce carbon emission, CSRS has been planning to replace fuel oil by implementing nature gas, expecting to reduce 6,009 ton of GHG per year.
