Blue Circularity for Campus Sustainability : A Co-creation Action.
Taiwan faces significant marine pollution from discarded fishing gear. To address this, a project has developed a scalable circular economy model integrating recycled marine plastics, large-scale robotic 3D printing, and sustainability education. By processing marine waste into recycled PE and ABS pellets, the initiative establishes a framework spanning "Marine Waste–Recycled Materials–Digital Manufacturing–Campus Application." Utilizing advanced robotic 3D printing, this plastic waste is transformed into high-value campus furniture, reducing reliance on virgin resources. Education is deeply embedded through university micro-credit courses, high school workshops, and XR-assisted co-creation. Students actively engage in design and implementation rather than learning passively. To date, the project has established a printing facility and a robust cross-sector network including research institutes and industry partners. By bridging environmental action and education, it supports SDGs 4, 11, 12, and 14, demonstrating a strong sustainable and social impact.
