Taichung Bike Lanes - Let's All RIDE!
Taichung as "The City of Bicycles" Taichung is a major hub for bicycle industries, such as Giant and Merida, forming a complete industrial chain, earning it the reputation of "The City of Bicycles." Recently, it combined industrial advantages with tourism resources to develop bicycle tourism, attracting more tourists to experience different forms of "sustainable tourism." Environmental sustainability as the core value Taichung City Government has integrated landscapes, sustainability values, and tourism resources to construct bicycle lanes. The Taichung City Government Tourism Bureau implemented the sustainability values in many ways, including holding the "Taichung Bicycle Carnival," devising the bicycle lanes section in "Fun Tour Taichung" APP, and promoting the "Start Cycling" APP through public-private partnerships. "R-I-D-E" as the model To establish Taichung as Green Destination, the Bureau launched the "Let's All RIDE" initiative, aiming to transform idle space into low-carbon urban road network, building the bicycle lanes with unique features including "R-Rail," "I-Intelligence," "D-Dike," and "E-Efficiency.
