AI × Smart Manufacturing × Carbon: An Integrated Innovation Alliance
The Metal Industry Low-Carbon Alliance (MILCA) responds to global net-zero policies, carbon taxes, and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) trends by promoting low-carbon and smart transformation in manufacturing industries. MILCA has established an integrated service model based on AI, IoT, lean management, and digital transformation, and developed three core systems: (1) a low-carbon and smart manufacturing diagnostic system, (2) an AI-based carbon inventory and management platform, and (3) an IoT-integrated carbon emission monitoring system. MILCA has connected over 42 enterprises, achieved a 70% carbon inventory completion rate, improved carbon management accuracy by 40%, and organized more than 16 training activities in 2025 with 588 participants. The alliance strengthened international collaboration by hosting conferences with experts from seven Southeast Asian countries, expanding global cooperation networks and promoting best practices in low-carbon smart manufacturing. MILCA also continues to expand in Southeast and Central Asia, supporting member companies in implementing low-carbon and smart transformations in cross-border operations.
