Kaga City’s SDGs Promotion Strategy
Kaga City is building an integrated model to address regional challenges and achieve the SDGs, centered about two innovative initiatives: the “e-Kaga Citizen System” and the “Life Design Promotion Organization.”
The e-Kaga Citizen System allows individuals and organizations living outside Kaga City to digitally register and participate as “Kaga citizens.” Registered members can engage with the city in various ways, such as supporting local initiatives, participating in events, sharing opinions, contributing through hometown tax donations, or collaborating via side jobs or dual employment.
The Life Design Promotion Organization is a public-private partnership composed of local industries and civic groups. It plays a central role in addressing Kaga’s pressing issues of population decline and aging. Its mission is to create an environment where diverse life paths—such as employment, marriage, and childbirth—can be realized. The organization promotes concrete initiatives in alignment with this mission through collaboration with relevant stakeholders in three key areas: preconception care, labor, and child-rearing.
