Let’s Spark the Future of Our Oceans: Starting with Sea Turtles, TCI Restores Marine Ecosystems
Approximately 60% of TCI’s annual revenue comes from products containing fish skin-derived collagen. As a biotech company focused on human health, TCI understands that marine ecosystem sustainability is vital to industry longevity. Over 70% of stranded sea turtles in Taiwan are found dead, reflecting severe environmental pressures.
Since 2018, TCI has partnered with external groups on sea turtle rescue, rehabilitation, release, and marine education, creating a “Blue Action Chain” that integrates CSR, global cooperation, and industry innovation. In 2021, TCI boosted its purchase of Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified sustainable marine materials to ensure eco-friendly sourcing.
Starting in 2024, TCI expanded efforts from Taiwan to the Philippines, supporting a conservation center that collected 36,982 turtle eggs with a 78% hatch rate. In Taitung, collaboration with National Taiwan Ocean University documented 26 nesting females producing 49 clutches with an 81% hatch rate and over 2,000 hatchlings. TCI also funded the rescue of a stranded green turtle in Penghu and led employee involvement in two turtle release events with the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium.
