Powering the Legacy of Utilities, Empowering a Sustainable Energy Future
The story of Taipower mirrors the broader history of electricity in Taiwan. Electricity is crucial, but not always welcome. This initiative retraces the electric power industry’s history and preserves its collective memory to foster public understanding and social identity. By linking cultural heritage with sustainability, it opens a new path connecting people, power, and the future.
In preserving cultural heritage, Taipower trains employees as cultural ambassadors. With support from its internal reporting system and the Taipower Collection Center, we adds over 300 newly preserved items each year. For outreach, we uses technology to build a digital archive and launched the Taipower Collection Website, supported by promotional campaigns. It also brings together internal staff and experts from academia, government, and industry to build a talent pool for power-related cultural heritage, offering cross-departmental learning resources. Since 2024, Taipower has deepened partnerships with local schools to boost grassroots engagement. To enhance transparency, Taipower connected resources to major national platforms for archives and research, expanding public access and social connection.
