Yunlin County Electricity Saving Action Plan:Building a Local Sustainable Energy Governance Model
Project Overview: This project supports Yunlin County Government in enhancing local energy governance. It promotes smart energy use and conservation to drive environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Environmental: A smart electricity management system was deployed in residences and five major business districts, enabling real-time monitoring of high-consumption appliances. The project helped 65 residential and commercial users identify energy hotspots. Over 600 businesses received on-site audits and guidance to boost compliance and reduce electricity use. Social: To raise awareness, 15 innovative energy education sessions were held in elementary schools over three years, extending messages to families. A Facebook page shared updates and interactive content. Seven public workshops involved NGOs, experts, and citizens in policy discussions aligned with local needs. Economic: An “Energy-Saving Star Rating” system attracted 90 small businesses, with 35 completing upgrades and achieving 10–25% annual electricity savings. The public “Energy Tourism Map” promoted rated businesses and green tourism, boosting local competitiveness.
