Her Way in Dajia
"Her Way in Dajia" empowers women aged 45–64 in Taichung’s coastal areas, addressing reemployment challenges identified in CEDAW Article 11 and Recommendation No. 27. Through gender-focused training programs rooted in local culture, women gain skills in guided tours and gender awareness, enhancing their economic independence and public engagement. From 2022–2024, 13 women were trained, and 11 became certified guides leading gender-themed tours of Dajia’s landmarks, such as Dajia Jenn Lann Temple, the Four Historic City Gates, youth entrepreneurship zones, and pastry streets. They lead tours through a gender lens, sharing both local history and personal life stories. This not only increases their income and employability but also helps educate the public about gender equality. This initiative integrates public-private partnerships, including local businesses and women’s groups, and promotes gender equality through campaigns like the “Tea Offering.” Aligned with SDGs 5, 6, 8, and 17 and CEDAW Articles 5 and 11, the project strengthens women’s economic power, fosters inclusive participation, and challenges gender stereotypes in heritage and tourism.
