H-Type Cross-national USR Social Inclusion Model: Taiwan-Malaysia Sustainable Development Practice
The “H-shaped Cross-national USR Social Inclusion Model” is a partnership between National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia. It merges both institutions’ expertise in local revitalization, sustainable education, and zero-carbon tourism to promote cross-cultural resource sharing and innovation. Core goals include strengthening Taiwan-Malaysia USR cooperation, creating a replicable sustainability model, and piloting carbon-neutral tourism.
The project involves key stakeholders—local teams (e.g., Ipoh PLab, Gukeng Guilin), UTAR’s soft skills unit, government agencies, and industry experts—to develop practice fields, policy support, and carbon certification systems. Actions such as multi-sensory learning, study tours, and USR forums boost community cohesion and job opportunities.
Examples like COEX, Xing Bus, and Teja Luna Bamboo Base highlight sustainable development and target global certification. Future steps include expanding to areas like Hitoyoshi-Kuma (Japan) and founding an “International USR Practice and Exchange Center” to advance Asia-Pacific sustainability leadership.
