Livable City with Comprehensive Care and SustainabilityPingtung County as the southmost tip city in Taiwan, realizing its strengths and weakness, the County Government puts efforts into building a livable city. To build inclusive urbanization, we promote Rural Regeneration, Community Planning and enhance new immigrants` employability. In response to climate change, we enhance resilience by insurance for agricultural and fishery products, artificial lakes, hyporheic flow, medical cares. To develop sustainable transportation, we are striving to extend highspeed rail and Kaohsiung MRT and upgraded Public Bike. For the purpose of promoting ecofriendly economics, we promote high-polluting boiler replacement, organic farming and organic fertilizers subsidies. To provide affordable housing, we constructed social housing and launched social housing rental project for vulnerable groups. We protect marine ecology by fleets and underwater warriors and preserve indigenous and Hakka culture by traditional events and languages. To create green spaces, we built Wannian wetlands and One Town, One Unique Playground. As climate actions, we implemented 87 measures and achieved 405,000 tons of emissions reduction and 216,000 tons of carbon sequestration.
