YEN PO-WEN
Seven years ago, I took over as the CEO of Tzu Chi Foundation. With "sustainability" as its core value, by the end of March 2024, I had given more than 260 speeches, reaching more than 5,000 people in more than 20 countries and regions. And I hope to strengthen the organization's resilience in facing global challenges by the introduction of technology and tools.
Building on the existing foundation, I led the organization to become the first non-profit charity organization in Taiwan to commit to the 2050 net-zero emission target, implemented TCFD in order to face the financial impact of climate risks, created Taiwan’s first vegetarian food delivery platform, and created a diverse vegetarian restaurant, assisted more than 55 social innovation teams on the youth charity platform, allowing 6 teams to establish formal organizations, and invited enterprises, organizations and governments as partners, thereby expanding the influence of charity and making charity services more efficient and professional.
In the future, I will continue to combine the SDGs and Master Cheng Yen’s vision of purifying people’s hearts, creating social harmony, and making the world free from disasters to deepen ESG and practice CSR in the four directions of “establishing systems, strengthening governance,” “inheriting the dharma, cultivating talents,” “global partnership, cooperation and common good,” and “optimizing information and revitalizing finance”.
