Skyborn: the Guardian of Black-faced SpoonbillsSkyborn Renewables Taiwan entered the Asia Pacific region with the Yunlin project of 640WM capacity. It is the 1st offshore wind farm in Taiwan to incorporate domestic components and is the only phase 2 wind farm that fulfilled the 100% made-in-Taiwan commitment. Our vision of sustainability extends the effort on local ecology, and《The Black-faced Spoonbill Tracking Program》shows our further dedication. Traditional observation methods were limited by sunlight. GPS trackers powered by solar energy we use provide a solution by supplying data even at night. They track the migration routes of black-faced spoonbills and their stopover habitats. Since the inception of this program in 2021, Skyborn has discovered 10 additional hotspots. With data on more than 100 migration routes (38 recorded in 2023,24 in Q12024), Skyborn is the ONLY organization that has extensive first-hand data on migration routes and stopover hotspots of the spoonbills in Taiwan. We also work with conservation associations to optimize patrolling efforts and connect partners in Asia-Pacific for a bird census.
