Safeguarding the Ecology：Conservation Efforts for Rare Birds and Algal ReefsIn terms of marine areas, we promote marine ecological monitoring research, such as habitat creation and population monitoring of species like coral algae, dugongs, and Acropora solitaryensis. We also initiate biodiversity creation projects in suitable locations, such as the Coral Ark Project at the Yong'an Natural Gas Receiving Station and the Shen'ao LNG Receiving Station, serving as Taiwan's coral conservation bases. In terrestrial areas, we conduct surveys on biological resources in operating areas, transforming research results into environmental knowledge, providing employees and local residents with opportunities to understand the local ecology. We also collaborate with external organizations to promote species conservation actions. For example, at the Taoyuan coast, we create breeding habitats for conservation-class black-tailed gulls, effectively increasing their breeding success rate from less than 30% to over 70%, thus realizing the vision of win-win ecological sustainability and economic development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
