Enforcing crop safety for food safety
To achieve the goal of enforcing crop safety and securing food safety, the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program is implemented by the Agriculture Bureau of Taichung City. The aim of this program is to improve pest control in fields which was mainly manipulated by chemical pesticides. The 5 strategies of the program include prevention, monitoring, involvement(treatment), improvement, and vulgarization. For sustainable development goals, we will create an eco-friendly crop cultivation environment to minimize chemical pesticides exposure, and ensure agricultural products safety. There will be 7 sustainable development goals. The primary goal is to achieve SDG 12, and the secondary goals are SDG 2, 3, 4, 13, 14, and 15. Therefore, various agricultural acts were enacted to create a thorough IPM system, such as pest monitoring, healthy seedlings, agriculture facilities, smart agriculture, pest control, organic and eco-friendly farming, agriculture commodity inspection, and farmer participation improvement.
