Accelerating the Sustainability Action with AI - Smart Carbon Neutrality ZoneAs one of the most influential universities in Taiwan, Tunghai University(THU) seeks to strive for sustainable development and net zero emissions by supporting the UN SDGs, has been rolling out a campus-wide software/hardware environment systemically since 2018. THU aims to further nurture AI professionals with our strong humanities and technology foundations, and strive to galvanize research and education capacities to integrate cloud applications with the major domains of AI smart application in sustainability, including manufacturing, ecology, building, and healthcare to assist industries with smart transformations through digital technologies. In 2022, THU officially established the Office of Sustainable Development, with Vice President Dr. Chang Jo-Shu leading, Dr. Chang was appointed convener of the CDR Group and Biomatter Group as part of the negative carbon technology working group under Executive Yuan's Net-Zero Pathway Task Force. He has been dedicated to achieving circular economy models with low-carbon economy and technological innovation. On campus, we've rolled out environmental monitoring, smart manufacturing, and other education and training, industry connection.
