World Vision Taiwan

World Vision's Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program was established to address the significant challenges related to water resources and sanitation highlighted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). World Vision’s WASH program model utilizes a set of evidence-based practices in three principal “domains of intervention”: water, sanitation and hygiene. The program's implementation involves four essential interventions: 1) water access, 2) sanitation access, 3) hygiene access, and 4) WASH behavior change while ensuring the quality of water through water treatment at both the source and household levels, as well as building local capacity in the rehabilitation and expansion of existing water supply systems. In 2023, World Vision Taiwan implemented eight WASH projects across eight countries. These projects established 17 water supply systems (including mechanical wells and water points), formed 28 community WASH management committees, and assisted 4,932 households in constructing simple latrines. These efforts benefited over 80,000 children, family members, and community residents.
