I. Program background: In Taichung, the female labor force participation rate is 53.9%, with women encountering lower participation rates, re-employment challenges, and shorter service years. Genderfriendly spaces are also lacking. To address these issues, Taichung promotes the innovative support and gender-friendly store service scheme to raise awareness of disadvantaged women and gender diversity, aiming to achieve a sustainable, gender-equal city. II. Promotion strategies and achievements: Taichung endeavors to enhance women's economic empowerment and build a genderfriendly city by implementing SDGs, CEDAW, and promoting gender equality. Through the 'Economic Empowerment for Women, Sustainable Equality' scheme, led by the Social Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government, Taichung has established the Taichung Women's Bazaar and genderfriendly stores. III. SDG5-centered and aligning with SDG1, SDG11, and SDG17: The scheme promotes equal participation of different genders, and improves re-employment and disadvantaged women's employability. Additionally, it advocates gender friendliness through stores, and stimulates the public to action gender equality.
