Taipei Municipal Wanfang Hospital (Managed by Taipei Medical University)

Based on data from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA), medication costs account for nearly 30% of medical expenses and are expected rising with the aging society. To improve medication efficiency, Wanfang Hospital proposed several measures. Pharmacists entered communities to identify under-served individuals. We developed a medication consultation app, used YouTube and social media for timely information and interaction. We also created medication guidance leaflets and videos, linking via QR codes. Smart paperless medication safety systems were also developed. In addition, we provided a pharmacist clinic, using cloud technology for personalized medication therapy management. The hospital aims to reduce inappropriate medication use and save social cost, achieving sustainable management and efficient resources utilization. These efforts have been recognized by the National Healthcare Quality Award and the SNQ National Quality Symbol Award. Wanfang Hospital engaged in community operations to achieve SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 4 (Quality education), moving towards a vision of co-prosperity with the planet.
