Empowering visual friendly digital reading in Keelung - 2023 "eRead for the Future" eReader library.
E Ink Holdings Inc. has initiated "eRead for the Future" eReader mobile library project since 2017, aiming to promote visual friendly digital reading and enhance reading literacy in remote elementary schools nationwide. The project aims to be rolled out in one county each year, using E Ink's core ePaper technology and working with ePaper ecosystem partners to leverage their expertise, products, and technology advantages to donate eReaders and e-books to remote schools. To date, the project has been completing in Nantou County, Changhua County, Chiayi County, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City and Penghu County. In 2023, the project had expanded to Keelung City, established a digital library based on diverse, portable, eye-friendly, and long-term reading suitable e-books in seven counties in Taiwan. "eRead for the Future" is not only implemented in Taiwan but also collaborates with ecosystem partners in the communities where E Ink’s factories are located. We evaluate the social needs of different regions and bring the "eReader mobile library" into schools. The project has been also gradually implemented in other regions, such as Yangzhou in China, Seoul in Korea, and Boston in the U.S.
