From 2019 to 2023, the TaiwanICDF collaborated with Ministry of Health in Eswatini, Chia-Yi Christian Hospital, and Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital to implement the Maternal and Infant Healthcare Improvement Project (Phase 2) in Eswatini. The project leveraged a holistic three-tier strategy that connected with government, institution and community levels to enhance accessibility of maternal and infant healthcare services nationwide. Apart from providing evidence based policy recommendations, the project adopted the Training of Trainers (ToT) method to strengthen the capacities of clinical and community healthcare personnel and upgraded the funtions of 85 health facilities. Additionally, public health awareness were raised significantly through various types of interavtive and innovated promotion activities. Overall, the rate of pregnant women who received at least four antenatal care visits improved by 98% in collaborating health facilities, and targeted hospitals experienced a 43% decrease in early neonatal death rates. This demonstrates the project's significant contribution to Eswatini in achieving SDG 3: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
